Suite -11550 "Pearl"These suites all are named after gemstones - ours was the Pearl. The suite will even have a doorbell, as the master area is too far away to hear the door. (Floor plan - not to scale, just from memory) The room status sign is by door where mail is delivered. You turn the wheel from Welcome, Do Not Disturb, Turn Down Room to Make Up Room. The room is set up so that there are actually to cabins, each which can be locked and opened with your key card. You enter the main door into a small hall. Off to the right will be the door to the small cabin - second bedroom/bath combo. The bath has a shower, sink and toilet. The soaps in here come from dispensers. A sewing kit was also available. The bedroom has: a sofa that becomes a double bed; a pull down bunk; closet with shelves, hangers and drawers; small table, and 13" TV on the table. Continuing forward will bring you into the main room which consists of a dining area and a sitting area. The dining area will have a table for four - full of goodies, the refrigerator, ice bucket, storage areas and some counter space. The sitting-area will have a table, two chairs, a small loveseat and a 25" TV with built in DVD player (Ship has library of DVD's). The in room TV selections were listed here. My favorite channel was the Ship's Status channel showing weather, location and the like. Under the table you will find various literature and magazines. The DVD catalog, hotel services, and spa information were all here. The balcony has 2 loungers & a small table. (Photo 1, Photo 2) A double sliding door leads into the Master Bath. You will find a nice collection of soaps between the sinks, a whirlpool tub, a toilet with a glass door (surprise), closet and a shower with more sprayers than you can imagine, lots of storage and two small safes. There is a window in the shower and on two sides of the tub. Nice to relax and watch the sea pass by - just be sure to draw the blinds near ports. Need to answer the phone while from the toilet, they've got you covered. Of course while you are relaxing in your whirlpool you don't want to answer the phone, but you do need to watch TV. Yes there is a 15 inch LCD TV right there above the tub. I left it on the ship status channel all the time. It made a great night light for the bathroom. The close had plenty of storage, nice wooden hangers and two bath robes. The robes were not the big fluffy kind you sometimes get in fine hotels, but thin textured robes. Comfortable - just not what I had imagined. The Master Bedroom is separated from the bath by an archway that has curtains to close to block the light. In the corner you will find another 25" TV with DVD player. There is a phone and an alarm clock. The two night stands had a really cool feature - night lights built in. There were lamps under the base the acted as night lights - very cool. The bed had nice feather pillows and a down comforter, but no top sheet. Slept great. We had a bottle of Champagne from NCL and bottle of wine from our travel agent - Thanks Tina! The refrigerator contained one large bottle of free spring water. On the counter were two different bottles of water with price tags. The Bath Amenities included:
Moisturizing Lotion; Conditioning Shampoo; Bath Gel; Cotton Balls &
Q-Tip Caddie; Aloe Facial Soap; Citrus Body Bar; Glycerin Soap;
Therapeutic Hand Cream; Chamomile Night Cream; Bath Salts and Shower
Cap. There was a real hair dryer. They also snuck a bathroom
scale in the room - what were they thinking. Luckily it was set to
kilograms and I could not figure out how to switch it to pounds. The suite came with some other benefits too such as Butler Service and Concierge Service. We made use of both. Anne our concierge got us reservations without us ever waiting in a line, tender tickets and treats. Mohit, our butler, brought anything form the butler menu or Versailles/Aqua menus. Yes, full meals were available for in suite dining. We only did breakfast, but it was nice. Besides the available meal options, with butler service he returns to pick-up the dishes in room - no need to put them in the hall. Each night we were all greeted with mints on our pillows as part of the turn down service. The room was loaded with storage, some was in odd places, but there was plenty. We liked the wood everything look. They cabin also made extensive use of mirrors to make it appear larger. There were there separate climate controls (Small Bedroom, Main Living Area and Master Suite. There were so many light switches, it took several days to learn what each group did. Laundry service was available (prices). Friday night they ran a special - all the laundry you can stuff in one bag for $25. The only US outlets were in the Master Bath. If you have converters or equipment that can run on 50hz power, there were many outlets throughout that use the two small round plugs format. There was also a mobile phone that worked everywhere on the ship. You could even call it from the room as it had a special number. This was the same type of phone the ships crew used. Came in very handy a few times.
