Below you will find the review of Club Hal by our two daughters and us. Club Hal is marketed as everything a kid could want, lots of activities split by age group, movies, games, trained counselors and more.
The kids both enjoyed the time the spent in the program. Our 10-year old daughter spent less time in the program than our 8-year old daughter.
The day by day can be found here:
There was no real facilities for Club Hal. They have taken two meeting rooms and assigned them to the club. What this means is there are no toys or computers for the kids to play on. At first this seemed liked it was going to be a problem, but it actually worked out to be a very good program, which means a program that the kids enjoyed.
There is one thing that may give parents some concern. That is they fact that they have an "open door" policy. What this means is they don't sign your child in or out, and they are free to come and go as they please without parent or crew supervision. Our girls were instructed when and where to be and it was fine, if your child is more adventurous, this may be of concern.
One of the girls favorite activities was the ice cream eating contest. We were a little concerned with it being held so close to dinner, but it was a speed contest and not a volume contest. They each got one scoop and the faster one was the winner.
Each evening the new daily for Club Hal would arrive and the girls would review what they wanted to attend. On a couple of occasions our oldest did not want to do an activity, but once she got involved with the group she changed her mind.
