Activities

Vermeer Balcony

Vermeer Lounge was an interesting name as I would have called it a theater as all the major shows took place on the stage in here.  I did notice some wear on the couches in the front row, but other than that, it seemed to be in pretty good shape.  For the most part, views ranged from great to fair depending on your location.  The first few rows on the main floor and the front row in the balcony were very good.  The sound system provide enough volume to hear clearly from any location without being overly loud.  Seats 600

Casino

The casino had the usual mix of machines and tables.  The machines seemed to be packed a little closer together than I liked.  The casino was fairly busy, but not overly crowded.

Figurehead Gallery

Another interesting name, as the displays were not figureheads.  The pieces were quiet beautiful and the pictures probably don't do them justice.  There were many other collections of art and antiquities located at various other locations.

Card Room

The perfect place for a relaxing game cards.  Make a new friend or just play some solitaire.  Seats 48

Delft Library

A respectable on board library.  The children's selections were very limited though. Seats 23

The library is staffed by the performers from the main shows.  A convenient way to get to meet.

Puzzle Corner

Lots of puzzles in various stages of completeness.  Seems like the easy parts are always done when you get there.

Queen's Room

The Queen's Room was being used for storage during this trip, but it can be used as additional dining or private dining for the Rotterdam.  Seats 44

Bars and Clubs

Ocean Bar

The Ocean Bar has a live music and a dance floor.  A fairly mellow but pleasurable way to spend the evening.  Seats 138

Casino Bar

Nothing like a little alcohol to improve your gaming or at least your spirit.  The Casino Bar located in the casino fills that need.

Piano Bar

The Piano Bar was great fun weather seated around the piano or at one of the various tables.  Being fully enclosed, the smoke does get a little bit thicker a times than some of the other bars.  Seats 68

Explorers Lounge

The explorers lounge is another lounge to enjoy a drink and some live music.  During the day it provides another quiet place to sit and enjoy the scenery.  Seats 82

Dining

Rotterdam Dining Room

Seats 657 - Two Decks.  There was a bandstand on the upper deck which is where live background music would be performed. The was some interesting shaking when we left dock during one of the diners as the thruster were used.  Other than that, there did not seem to be too much noise or vibration.

Breakfast, lunch (on sea days) and dinner were served here.  Menus can be found here.

Pinnacle Grill

The Pinnacle Grill is the upscale premium dining room.  The menu remains the same for the length of the cruise and reservations are required.  The fee was $20 pp.

Shopping

Boutique

Pick out some clothes or souvenirs in this shop.  A pretty typical selection of items that one might want.  Shop was stocked for the itinerary with Alaska specific items.

Gourmet Shop

Gourmet Shop was another occasion were name did not fit function.  Basically this shop sold mostly tobacco products and chocolates.   A few other sundries were also on sale here.

Shopping Arcade

The typical collection of shops ranging from jewelry to clothes to souvenirs.  Sale tables were placed outside, varying in content over the length of the cruise.

Other

Atrium

This is the top of the Atrium were you can look down upon the fountain.  Not sure why the fountain was never actually running during our cruise.  The stairs here are an easy way to get down to the Promenade deck.
