ActivitiesStardust TheaterThis is the primary show venue. We never had a problem finding a seat even if we arrived late. Kids were requested to not be seated in the first three rows. These rows are below stage level, and are difficult to see from, so remained fairly available. The theater also has the great looking balconies. What was the designer thinking. Over half of the seating in the balconies is not usable. The second rows and the seats that are towards the stern in each balcony often cannot see large portions of the stage. The main floor seating uses the "stadium" seating standard, which ensure that the row in front will not block your view. We sat both in the rear and near the front, and always felt it was a good seat. (Photo) The sound system was good when working. They did have a few sound problems during one of the shows. The PromenadeTake a leisurely stroll around the ship to work off a few of those extra pounds you are sure to put on with all the fabulous food available. Very nice stroll as it encircles the entire ship. Typical of most ships, your view does include the bottoms of the lifeboats. I found this interesting. Just a side note - a few of the life boats are used for additional tenders at Fanning Island. Many chairs and tables to sit down and relax, but no lounge chairs that I saw. (Photo) Grand AtriumStarting here on deck 7 and rising up to deck 11, the Grand Atrium is typical of cruise ships. A focal point it contains reception, the excursion desk, Ports O'Call, Java Cafe and the restaurant reservation desk. Endless Summer looks down into it, and there is often live music and other activities taking place here. (Photo 1, Photo 2, Photo 3) DiningBlue Lagoon24 hour fast food - from burgers to fish-n-chips to wok dishes. The nice part is the items are all cooked on order. So the burgers here were fresh off the grill. We did not really see any use of the advertised outside seating. My wife enjoyed one of the wok meals, I did not care for the fish-n-chips (expected more of a beer batter type fish). Had a burger later and it was quite good. (Photo) Seats 124 (Inside 36, Outside 88) GinzaOne of the larger specialty restaurants, specializing in Asian Fusion Cuisine. This Ginza also houses the Teppanyaki Room, Sushi Bar and Sake Bar. Once again there is an extra fee. (Photo - Display - Menu) Seats 194 Teppanyaki RoomLike a Benihana where watching them prepare your meal prepared as part of the show. (Photo) Ginza Sushi BarSushi Bar equals extra fee, but then again, if you eat sushi, you are used to spending. (Photo) VersaillesVersailles entry located on this level at rear elevators. See deck 6 for a description. Bars and ClubsKaraoke CircusCircus-themed Karaoke Bar open to the hall. As you sing your songs the people in the photo gallery are often listening, and sometimes surprised to find a passenger is actually that voice the hear. Large selection of music in various styles. (Photo) Seats 134 Red Lion PubTraditional English Pub featuring darts and large screen TVs. Hey, you can even get fish-n-chips. This was a popular waiting place for Versailles to meet before and after dinner. (Photo) Seats 92 Java CafeServes frozen coffees, espresso's, cappuccino's, tea's, pastries and cookies. During the day several activities take place here such as trivia contests. Live music is often heard here later in the day. (Photo) Seats 56 Sake BarThe name says it all. Hidden in the back of Ginza, it still seemed to be kept fairly busy. (Photo) Teen ClubMusic, meeting and dancing for teens. I never entered when the teens were present, after all, the point was to have a place just for them. My guess is that is serves it purpose well. (Photo) Seats 51 ShoppingPhoto GalleryThese photo guys are everywhere, and sometimes the pictures do not always flatter. This means that everyone will get to see you at your best, and not so best. If you don't like/want some photos remove and turn them in to make space for more (we wouldn't just be trying to hide them). The photos were 9.99 for 5x7 and 19.99 for 8x10, pricey - but sometimes a great shot is worth it. (Photo) The star now supports digital formats and will convert/print etc your digital media. (Sign). Galleria ShopsLocated in the stern, this is a fairly large shopping area. A collection of shops offering Jewelry, Clothes, Sundries, Logo Items, Alcohol and much more. (Photo 1, Photo 2, Photo 3, Photo 4, Photo 5) Port O'Call ShopRight on the Grand Atrium, a easy place to pick up a few small items. (Photo) Excursion ShopThe deck plan indicates Capella Jewelry is located here, but as you can see, it is now the Excursion Desk. Check the hours as they are not always open, but you can check availability of excursions off the handy chart at almost any time. (Photo) Other
